I’ve been a huge fan of the Super Mario series ever since I first played Super Mario 64. The combination of falling in love with the gameplay and the adorable look of the characters made it one of my favorite series growing up. It was only natural then when Nintendo announced that they were working on a game set in its beloved universe. What an awesome surprise! WarioWare, is finally here and it’s as cute as you’d expect for a game about wario. If you played Super Mario Galaxy 2, you’ll feel right at home as you take control of Wario once again to save his kidnapped friends, this time in his own Banjo-Kazooie style game world. This time around, you can play as either Wario or Bowser depending on your preference (or both!). In order to save Princess Peach from being kidnapped by Bowser once again, Wario must enlist the help of six other iconic Mario and Luigi companions: Waluigi, Dry Bones, Princess Daisy, Toadsworth, Bowser Jr., and googly-eyed Yoshi. Their adventures lead them through various different games themed after classic Mario and Luigi icons such as Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, DK Jungle Jumping Game (which is so similar to Donkey Kong Jungle Jump), and even one based on The Wind Waker called The Wooden Wanderer. The very latest in the series, this game plays as a fresh take on the Super Mario RPG formula, using Wario and his Rideable figure as its core protagonists.
